Russell Weir has been associated with Cowal Golf Club for 44 years, and some accomplishments are as follows:

• Junior & Intermediate Member 1960 - 1971
• Scottish Boy Champion 1968 Boy & Youth Internationalist
• Commenced full professional status at Cowal Golf Club in 1979
• Won over 100 tournaments on the Tartan Tour
• Winner of the Order of Merit 5 times
• Leading Money Winner 5 times
• Held 14 course records
• Played PGA Cup Matches 8 times (this is a record) 1986, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998 and 2000
• UK Club Pro Champion 1986 & 1987
• European Club Pro Champion 1987, 1988 & 1992
• Temes Greek Open Senior Tour 2001
• Played British Open 7 times
• 8 = Bell's Scottish Open
